All right, so several MONTHS ago, I promised to write about my personal au pair experience a decade ago. Well, I actually just relocated back to Germany, so I have been a bit a tad busy getting settled. This time I’m in Germany not simply as a young single girl looking for fun and adventure, but as an older (ouch!) and wiser (hopefully) woman advancing her career in one of the coolest cities out there, Berlin.

Sooooo, it is going to be a bit longer before I get into my own personal au pair history. In the meantime, I’d love to hear from current au pairs.

What’s it like? Are you enjoying being an au pair? Loving it? Hating it? Let us know – we have many readers who are exploring the whole possibility of being an au pair, and we can all help these future au pairs out by telling them how it is.

So spill the beans!

  1. Very cool that you moved back! I was a summer exchange student in southern germany 3 years ago and now I am actually heading back at the end of september to be an au pair!! I am so excited but nervous at the same time because i do not know what to expect!

  2. I’m a mother who hosted an aupair girl for 6 months to help me with my two children Ton and Jennifer. I think Kate (the aupair girl) was really happy about her journey. She loved the city and our english way of life.
We find her with the Almondbury aupair agency website. They are a really good agency, I never had any issue.

I’ll tell Kate to come and post on your website.
For myself I think I’ll take an other aupair girl for September.
